    New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA)
    Festival List 2005 to 2012

    NYSSMA's mission is "to advocate and improve the education in music of all people in New York by promoting appropriate music activities and programs in the schools and communities of New York State." About 100,000 students participate annually in NYSSMA's spring music festivals held around New York state.

    These tunes were selected for the NYSSMA Festival List:

    University Interscholastic League (UIL)
    Prescribed Music List 2003 to 2010

    The Prescribed Music List provides appropriate, stimulating, and rewarding literature to accommodate and challenge the diverse performing ensembles and soloists in Texas who participate in the UIL Music Contest program. The UIL believes that with the study, preparation, and performance of this music, students grow artistically while developing their music literacy.

    Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM)
    2005-2009 Popular Selection Syllabus

    The Royal Conservatory of Music was founded in 1886 as a not-for-profit arts organization whose mission is to foster the development of human potential through music and arts education. A leading school of music in Canada, The Royal Conservatory of Music has produced distinguished musicians acclaimed throughout the world. More than 400,000 Canadians participate in Conservatory programs annually. The Royal Conservatory of Music has become one of the largest music education institutions in the world.

    The Royal Conservatory of Music selected Valarie Morris' piano arrangement of Scott Joplin's "The Entertainer" for their Popular Selection Syllabus.


    National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC)
    2004-2010 Festivals Bulletin

    The National Federation of Music Clubs, the world's largest philanthropic music organization, is the only music organization member of the United Nations. The organization sponsors 135 annual competitions and its national awards total $750,000.

    The Music Teachers Association of California, established over 100 years ago and dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in music education, has about 4,200 members in 60 branches. Each branch has its own activities as well as participates in state-wide projects and programs.

    MTAC selected the solos in these piano music books for their syllabus:
